1.Product application
SKN93/SKN98(portable type)SKN97 (upper untwister type)/SKN98 air splicers (lower untwister type) are widely used in production process of coning,hank winding,abutting,double twisting and warping; the splicer can effectively can solve the problem of "knot,and greatly improve efficiency and quality of downstream steps. It's the best choice for enterprises to produce knot-free yams.

2.Technical parameters and debugging
(1)SKN series air splicer ls applicable for splicing of cotton,flax,wool,silk,chemical fibre,glass fibre and thread.
(2)Number of counts:5-200Ne,120-3Tex;
(3)splicing strength:>80%(determined by component,number of counts and plies and degree of twist);
(4)uneven strength rate (CV%):≤18%;
(5)length of joint:20-25mm;
(6)diameter of joint:≤1.3 times than raw yarn;
(7)speed:0.5-1s/splicing (adjustable);
(8)pressure of compressed air 0.59Mpa-0.7Mpa (air pressure required by special yam is determined by number of counts,degree of twist and fibre component);
(9)out put pressured of compressor: 0.98Mpa-1.225Mpa (determined as per length of pipeline and diameter of ducts)
(10)Air consumption: 0.75-2L/splicing:
(11)untwisting method:high frequency vibration by oscillator plte;reversed air is applied to untwisting of untwist tube;
(12)splicing method:two untwisted yarns are blended and wound in mingling chamber under function of compressed air
(13)splicing parameters adjustment (refer to fig.1 on the left page):
(a)adjustment of air consumption for ends preparation:adjust air input volume by the indicator "E",so as to control the procedure (scale:1-6;the smaller the scale is,the lower the air volume is and vice versa);
(b)adjustment of length of joint.adjust the yarn overlap length by the indicator "L";under certain strength,the shorter overlap length is helpful for good appearance (the smaller the scale ls,the shorter the length is and vice versa)
(c)adjustment of splicing time:by adjusting the indicator "T" (the smaller the scale is,the shorter the time is and vice versa).


In conclusion, 
The yarn strength and its appearance are contradictory;the course of adjustment ls actually a process of finding an equilibrium point,ie.smooth appearance and appropriate strength for downstream steps.



3.Splicing process
An operator puts two crossed yams into bottom of guide line (see fig.2),(keep tension of two yams the same) presses the trigger to start up air valve;the machine will carry out automatic splicing as follows:

Attention:in order to obtain high-quality detwisting,make sure oscillator plate is under good working condition without coiling,damage sand replace it if necessary (see Fig.8).

4.Fault analysis and troubleshooting

8.Main housing indicator is designed for bridge speed control,i.e.speed increases by clockwise adjusting (scale
value becomes larger);decreases by anti-clockwise adjusting.Pay special attention to slowing down speed of
clockwise adjusting in order to prevent expansion of nozzle;
9.Install sealing pads 00-27 in groove of main cover,middle body and main housing;prevent displacement that
may damage sealing pads and cause air leakage;
10.Apply #2 lube oil on O rings every time of disassembly and assembly with the purpose of prolong their
service life and ensure smooth up-down moving of piston;
11.Screw down four screw rods on main housing and fasten them,with the end where thread is shorter down-ward to prevent damage of thread after loosening,which may cause air leakage of main cover,middle body and main housing;
12.Piston 00-35 is a complete component;check screw 00-45 for loosening;random disassembly or assembly is forbidden;please replace the component in case of unsmooth up-down moving and abnormal working after loosening of screw;
13.Fasten screw caps on four screw rods evenly and across;do not fasten them respectively or only one side to prevent air leakage between main cover,middle body and main housing and unsmooth moving of piston and valve 00-30;
14.Push and pull bridge for once after upper cover,middle body and main housing are installed;make sure the bridge shall be smoothly pushed down and pulled out;and then connect air source,observe if there's air leakage after several times of operation;replace O ring in case of leakage;
15.Pay attention to two positioning pins under support frame;do not miss one of them or neglect them to prevent displacement of frame,which may cause stiff bridge and frame;
16.Put spring 00-14 into a fixed hole on main cover to avoid unretraction of support frame and prevent that yarn scan not be put into right position;
17.Pay attention to left and right sides of oscillator,install it at right position to prevent yarns entering the oscillator;
18.When installation of left and right support boards,stroke shaft 03-11 on the boards shall be mounted in top,left and right positioning holes on main cover to avoid distortion of board in case of fastening bolts;
19.Check support board springs 00-10 and 00-07 for reversed installation to avoid in flexible working of scissors and unretraction of left and right working levers
20.Check scissors 00-02 and 00-08 for mixing up of left and right blades;make sure there's no displacement of gasket 00-05,which may result in gasket distortion and inflexible and inoperative scissors.
Cautions:
Check cliping plates on support boards for good flexibility,and working lever,lever and linking board shaft for flexibility;fasten bolts on stroke shaft;
Check mingling chamber for any impurities entering and blockage
Fasten bolts on support board,bridge and cam follower without loosening;
Do not over-tightening support board bolts to prevent inflexible support frame and bridge caused by distortion of frame;
Pay attention to fasteners bolts that may prop friction plate

5.Daily maintenance
Carryout following maintenance on daily,weekly and monthly basis according to different parts:
1.Daily maintenance:
(1)Remove the housing,use forceps and brush or cleaning gun to remove flying and other impurities;
(2)Apply lite lube oil at friction parts and discharge extra lube oil by several times of splicing without yarns in order to keep yarn clean;
(3)Check oscillator plate for good condition (see fig.8);
(4)Check rubber pad for wearing and any slots;
(5)Check all moving parts for good condition and any air leakage;
(6)Check yarn clipping board for wearing.
2.Weekly maintenance (after about 100000 times operation):check scissors for sharpness;replace scissors in case of bluntness.
3.Monthly maintenance (after about 400000 times operation):disassemble and clean cylinder,piston and other parts;check sealing rings for wearing condition.Apply a thin layer of lube grease on moving surfaces of cylinder,piston and sealing rings.(grease grade:#2 white special grease).
